‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: First look at finale, Nina Dobrev exit
It’s been known now for weeks that Nina Dobrev will be done with “The Vampire Diaries” at the end of the season, and after reading the synopsis for the finale right now, this news is starting to settle in to a certain degree. There is no turning back for Elena, and at this point the primary question is simple: How is the show going to say goodbye to this character? Will they kill her off, or allow her to leave in a way that will cause her to move forward and have a normal life? We like to think more of the latter, mostly because she is the sort of character whose death would completely ruin years of progress.
Now, let’s get to that synopsis. For those wondering, this episode is going to air on Thursday, May 14, and the title for it is “I’m Thinking of You All the While”:
“In the aftermath of Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo’s (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) powerful nuptials, things take a dramatic turn when an uninvited guest shows up, leaving Elena (Nina Dobrev) in terrible jeopardy. Despite Matt’s (Zach Roerig) advice to leave town to protect herself, a defiant Bonnie (Kat Graham) takes matters into her own hands after finding herself on the receiving end of a twisted plan. As Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) reach an emotional crossroad in their relationship, a reunion with Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) leaves Tyler (Michael Trevino) faced with a decision that could change his life forever. Meanwhile, Lily’s (guest star Annie Wersching) reckless actions cause Stefan to realize the lengths to which his mother will go to reunite with her “family.” Finally, after a devastating chain of events, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is forced to make the most difficult decision of his life.”
If nothing else, this synopsis certainly does a good job of making you think that Elena could die, and there could be a variety of other crazy things that happen, as well when it comes to Stefan and Caroline. Also, it’d be wrong to forget here that we are also going to see the exit of Michael Trevino (at least as a series regular) during this hour. His exit has been somewhat overshadowed by the news of Dobrev leaving the series.
