‘Gotham’ episode 21 preview: Barbara in peril; the Penguin’s plan in ‘The Anvil or the Hammer’

We are starting to get near the end of “Gotham” this season, and of course this means a variety of different things: Trouble for many important characters, the threat of death, and also the potential for everything you know to get completely turned on its head before things officially come to a close. There has already been a second-season renewal, so you have to expect now that there will be some sort of epic cliffhanger to keep you waiting with anticipation for the second season to premiere.

“The Anvil or the Hammer” is the title for this upcoming episode of the show, and the Ogre is going to get things going by trying to take his latest victim in Barbara Keen. While this happens, though, you better also prepare for a variety of other crazy happenings including the Penguin making quite possibly his biggest move of the entire series so far. Take a look at the synopsis below:

“The Ogre breaks down Barbara’s emotions, while Gordon and Bullock go to great lengths to track him down. Meanwhile, Penguin leads a massacre, beginning an epic war, while Bruce learns the truth about Wayne Enterprises and Nygma deals with his recent actions.”

There are admittedly a few things that we don’t anticipate full payoff for this season. For example, we are going to be pretty darn surprised if we actually learn completely what Nygma’s next move is towards becoming the Riddler this season, but we are okay with this because the Pengiun’s story isn’t done yet… we don’t need another big villain at this point.
