‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Adrianne Palicki, Nick Blood to star in potential spin-off

Agents -Is one of our “Agents of SHIELD” spin-off rumors confirmed? Based on some of the eary evidence, it definitely looks this way.

According to a report from Deadline, Adrianne Palicki and the awesomely-named Nick Blood are currently in talks to headline the potential spin-off series that is being planted naturally within the second season of the flagship ABC show. They will not get a backdoor pilot in the same way that “Chicago Med” did within “Chicago Fire,” but they have been seen enough over the course of the season to be well-known by the majority of viewers. The two play former spouses Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter on “Agents of SHIELD,” and have been key components throughout the second season.

We were not entirely sure about Hunter being one of the characters to star in a separate show, mostly because of the screen time Mack and Bobbi in particular have received as of late thanks to the Real SHIELD. We almost felt like this organization would continue to operate at some point in cooperation with SHIELD proper, and this would ultimately become the focus of the new series.

We do like the idea of a spin-off about Bobbi very much, but at the same time we wonder whether or not it will stick. Palicki’s had a rough time getting superhero pilots off the ground, even if comparing this to “Wonder Woman” is unfair. The bigger issue here mostly is that “Agents of SHIELD” itself is hardly a ratings monster, and “Agent Carter” failed to get much traction earlier this year.
