ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Susan Ross battles Fitz (again)
While we understand that the majority of America has to be discussing what happened to Jake Ballard after the events of this past episode of “Scandal,” there was another moment within that episode entitled “I’m Just a Bill” that is important to the series’ long-term future: The decision by Susan Ross to go against the Grant administration, and force Fitz to completely rewrite with her a bill on the police form that would have not changed a thing.
In that moment, Susan made it clear to Fitz that she meant every little thing that she said about becoming the Vice-President: She is not here to play a game or be some sort of a patsy. She does not really care if she is elected President so much as that she just wants to enact change. Unfortunately for him, this means that there will be more differences of opinions coming up.
Specifically, we are finding out that one of the big ones will come in “A Few Good Women,” the penultimate episode this season airing on April 30. Take a look at the attached synopsis:
“Vice President Ross continues to defy the Grant administration when she hires Olivia Pope to defend a woman in the Navy. Meanwhile, Quinn and Huck must do what they do best to get answers about B613 and Mellie’s campaign for Senate continues to be a struggle.”
Unfortunately for Jake fans, this synopsis makes no mention as to whether or not he will be okay … but we’re starting to have a sneaky suspicion that he is going to make it through, and what we saw may have been some sort of trick designed to make it appear like he is dead. Why do this? Olivia and company would try anything to thwart Rowan at this point. Also, Scott Foley didn’t do the sort of publicity that we tend to expect now when an actor departs a show.
