‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: Jamie Bamber making another return as Bishop’s husband Jake
“NCIS” is getting its money’s worth out of hiring Jamie Bamber in the role of Jake. After a pair of appearances already this season, TVLine confirms that Bishop’s husband will be making at least one more appearance before the season is done.
Are we a fan of this? We’ll say so. We know that Ellie is not everyone’s favorite character on the show, but one thing we do really like is that there is at least one agent who already has their personal life on lockdown, so there is not some romance currently going on. We already have that happening with both Tony and McGee especially, and not having at least one married person in this group would be a little strange. Gibbs has multiple exes, and throwing his romantic history into the mix also adds to the dynamic in its own way.
Meanwhile, the same report also says that Matt Jones will reprise his role as NCIS Special Agent Ned Dorneget for multiple episodes. This will be the first time we have seen the character since season 10, and he was featured in both that season and the one before it, where he got a chance to shine in a few different episodes.
While “NCIS” has been coy to date about the end of the season, we imagine that they may choose to give you more of an action-packed thrill ride this time to close off the season than the more emotional tribute to Ralph Waite that he had last year. Given that a renewal is all but assured and there don’t appear to be any major contract issues, why not give us a big cliffhanger like “NCIS: Los Angeles” did this past season?
We’ll have some further “NCIS” news soon, but for now head over here to get some further insight into what lies ahead. Also, sign up here to book some other TV updates on all we cover, courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)

Of course they’re bringing him back. Bishop is a bore and they need to prop her up with a husband. He’s just as boring as her, though. Love Jamie Bamber, but he is completely wasted in this role.

The only real questions are: what kinds of danger and drama will Gibbs and McGee find themselves in the middle of in this in this arc, and will Tony get carpal tunnel syndrome from clicking the clicker constantly and insignificantly while every other team member are written into the exciting parts of the upcoming McGibbs arc?

I love Jake and Dornie. They bring a nice likeable, and usually comical, element. They make for interesting interaction with all our favorites. And yes, I also like Bishop in the mix. With all those likes my very top love is, of course, Gibbs/Mark Harmon.

Jake and Bishop are equally nice and bland. They’re not adding anything intresting storywise. I do like Dorneget, but I’d be surprised if he’s actually important to the story.

I know I’m venting a lot this season but really?? Isn’t this like his third appearance this season?? Are the making the new characters shown in three’s now?? lol I’m only excited because Dorneget will be back. I always loved his character and after a pretty crappy season…he will be the breath of fresh air I’ve been waiting for. :)

It could be be that Jake is coming back to take Bish to Timbuktu. lol Yep, I enjoy Dorneget too. They are running out of women and favorite characters to kill off of the show so I hope the season finale doesn’t result in him getting the ax. But it is NCIS so you never know. It is supposed to be a huge cliffhanger.

I know this sounds desperate but maybe saying goodbye to Jake means goodbye to Bishop. LOL If they kill off Dorneget, I really will be done with this stupid show. I know you don’t see him at all anymore but they don’t have to kill him off. If Dorneget is on the show now, I don’t think he will show up around the finale. I don’t know what they are going to do to make the finale big but my hopes of it involving Ziva in some way are slowly diminishing. There’s still no word on the EW contract being renewed or that there will even be a season 13 but if there is, I’m certain it will be there last.

I’m with you if they kill off Dorneget. He is supposed to be on several of the next episodes and I think there are only 3 or 4 left this season. I still can’t believe they killed off Diane and I still miss Mike Franks. Think Season13 will be the last one. I haven’t even seen a rumor of contract talks or even that the show would be renewed. Saw that Muse Watson (Mike Franks) has some exciting news. Hoping he makes a ghostly return to NCIS.

Dorneget is going to be in more than one episode and the season is coming to an end?? I really hope they don’t plan on killing him off because that would be another stupid idea of theirs to try and bring in viewers. That’s why they killed of Diane. It might have brought in viewers but it also ticked people off. If Muse Watson returns, I would be pretty happy about that. It would have to be his ghost again, talking to Gibbs but I would love to see him again. I know the chances of Ziva being part of the finale are pretty slim but it’s supposed to rattle us fans and we haven’t really heard any details on what it’s supposed to be about so…you never know. They need to start doing some big things and they need to make some big changes if this want Season 13 to be a good one. If there will even be a Season 13 because we should of heard something a couple months ago. It’s April and no word of it. That’s very odd.

I know Dorneget is not on the show much at all anymore so maybe they think it’s ok to kill him off but I think it would be another stupid mistake to bring in the viewers. They need to stay away from killing beloved characters and write better stories. GG is getting really bad and flat out lazy when it comes to writing. If he can’t do it, find someone that can. This season has been one big disappointment and I know a lot of people agree with me. If they do bring this show back for another season, they better be working on some fresh material because if this is what they have to work with next season…it does not sound too promising.

Don’t forget about Breena. She might be seen as disposable too since she isn’t seen much. GG says he wants to rattle us. Jimmy the orphaned father would not play well with me either. That would be my last straw. Still can’t get over Diane. Dumb move. What I want to know is after he draws in the viewers for that one episode how does he plan to fix it when they leave the show in droves after another unnecessary killing?

The only thing that’s going to rattle me is if they bring back Bishop.

To me, that’s just one less great guest star that will never make an appearance again. According to last nights episode, the demo ratings are the lowest they have ever been. This has not been a good season and killing more and more beloved characters off would be really stupid at this point. I just read the the story arc for the finale will involve Dorneget and an online case. Don’t know if that means bye bye to Dorneget but if it does…I don’t have high hopes already for season 13. Still waiting official confirmation on that, too. We should of known about that two months ago. They really are struggling and this proves it.
