‘The Walking Dead’ season 6: What does Norman Reedus want to see next from Daryl Dixon?
Tonight is a strange night for many fans of “The Walking Dead,” in particular when it comes to the waiting game. After all, this is the first time since Super Bowl Sunday that we have not had a new episode to discuss. While you will get the spin-off “Fear the Walking Dead” coming up on AMC this summer, you are going to be waiting until October to see the sixth season of this particular smash hit.
Everyone has a hope for what they want to see each character doing next; for example, we want to see Rick with Michonne, we are hoping for Eugene and Abraham to get along more, and we want some great stuff for Daryl Dixon. As it turns out, so does Norman Reedus! Speaking in a new interview with Yahoo TV, he explains that he wants to get some very meaty stuff that brings out some of the character’s wild side soon:
“I want him to get mean again. I want him to get super angry at something, which I’m pretty sure, it will happen eventually.”
Of course, everyone would like to see a little bit of angry Daryl again, and at a certain point, it would make sense. To us, what would be the tipping point was him either losing a friend like Aaron, or him starting to get closer again to actually allowing himself to be human again in Alexandria after spending so long cutting himself free of all emotion in this unrelenting world.
What do you want to see take place for Daryl moving forward on “The Walking Dead”? share with a comment, and head over here if you want to see some other updates when it comes to what we want to see happen on the show! Also, you can sign up now in the event you want some other TV updates on everything we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: AMC.)

If the show goes by the comics, Eric will be dead at some point in season 6. That will leave Aaron devastated (and single) and Daryl, who was accepted by both, will go into a rage. Interestingly, Kirkman has hinted that Daryl is the character of Paul “Jesus” Monroe and there has been some banter back and forth between the producers and Reedus whether to make Daryl gay (because Monroe is). Reedus remarked on Conan O’Brien last month that he “would totally rock that story” if the green light was given. Daryl + Aaron? It took me some time, but I could wrap my head around it. It’s pretty clear after 5 seasons that Daryl sees women as friends and allies- Nothing more. Ratings went up after the Aaron + Eric kiss, despite the knuckle-dragging social media backlash. There’s no such thing as bad publicity. It will be interesting to see how Daryl’s character will progress because, let’s face it, the constant loss-anger-depression cycle is getting old fast…
