‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’: NeNe Leakes, Kim Zolciak to star in road-trip series
Just in case you didn’t get enough of NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak when the two were castmates on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the two friends-turned-enemies-turned-friends-again have landed a chance to star in something different on Bravo.
As a part of an upfront for the network on Monday, it was announced that these two ladies would star in a show currently-titled “NeNe and Kim: The Road to Riches,” which will chronicle the two journeying from Atlanta to Los Angeles. It’s almost an ironic concept, acting as though they are not already buried in riches in Atlanta in between reality-show money, endorsements, and Kim being married to an NFL player, and that these two ladies have somehow never been to Los Angeles before. NeNe has filmed an entire series there before!
The only real difference here is that the two are going to be hitting the road together rather than hopping on a plane, and in theory, this could be really fun. It’s a chance to show off some Americana, and locations that are not typically a part of the Bravo fabric. These two could be the ultimate huge-personality fish out of water, and they are prone to getting into arguments.
Of course, we don’t want this to be a “Real Housewives of Atlanta” rehash. Don’t get into huge shouting matches that put a downer on the entire series. Keep this light, fun, and focused on the locations just as much as the ladies. It could be a transition for the two into a different phase of their career. It wouldn’t shock us if NeNe were to leave “Housewives” in the near future (she didn’t travel with them to the Philippines Sunday night), and she may try to find another role within the Bravo family.
