‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: When will plane crash redux episode air?

The future -We are not always that interested in when certain episodes of a show air, mostly because we like to take a philosophy of “we’ll get it when we get it.” The only exception to this self-created rule is a season finale, mostly because it is these episodes that we sit around anxiety-ridden over the thought of someone we care about being killed off and let’s face it… when it comes to “Grey’s Anatomy” no one is safe.

What makes the upcoming episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” about a plane crash another exception is that this is a non-finale episode that brings back traumatic memories of a different finale: “Flight.” There are few episodes we remember that had such an emotional backlash to them after airing. People were legitimately hurt to see Lexie Grey die, and the jury was still out about Mark Sloan and many others. Mark ultimately was the one to go, but in the following season premiere, but it has definitely made fans understand that anything can and will happen on this show, so be ready for it.

This new episode, according to SpoilerTV, is the twentieth episode of the season entitled “One Flight Down.” With the schedule for the show being what it is at the moment, this should air come April 16 and really get us going into the final arc of the season. A new plane crash will rock Seattle, and while the doctors (who are seemingly not on board this time) will try to help the survivors, it is impossible for them to not also flash back to their own hard times. Meredith lost her sister here, Callie the father of her child and Arizona had to undergo an amputation.

With all of this being said, we’re not sure that we love the show going in this direction, mostly because plane crashes are so rare that this is not something that the writers really needed to drudge up again. We’ve already went through the pain once, so why do it again? This show is a lot more creative then this and even though they are 11 seasons in, we know they can come up with new material instead of another plane crash.

We’ll have more to say on this episode soon enough, but head over here for now to get some other spoilers about what lies ahead on “Grey’s Anatomy”.
