‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 18 preview: Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, and what’s next

The future -Tonight, “Grey’s Anatomy” probably sent you on more than just one of those emotional roller coasters; instead, it dropped out from the top of an emotional tower of terror. Let’s just say that this installment was all sorts of brutal, mostly because of the revelation than Derek did cheat on Meredith. While he realized immediately afterward that it was the wrong move, the kiss still happened. There’s no changing that.

Unfortunately, we don’t get too many incredibly insightful clues about what is coming up next from the promotional material we’ve seen already for this installment. What we do at least have for the time being is the promo below, and the short-but-official synopsis:

“A school field trip to the hospital takes a dramatic turn when the kids witness two injured cops enter the emergency room. Meanwhile, Stephanie sets her eyes on one of the chaperones, Callie operates on the leg of the police captain and Amelia must face her feelings for Owen.”

While we are dreading more pain and heartache for Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey’s characters, shouldn’t we celebrate that something great seems to be happening for Meredith’s sister? We at least really want to hope that we can, given that we’ve seen her go through such a wide array of pain and heartache already over the years.

Ultimately, we just expect this particular installment of “Grey’s Anatomy” to deliver some big drama, while answering some important questions along the way.
