ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4, episode 17 preview: Olivia wants to see Cyrus get married

Is there a wedding bell or two in the air on “Scandal” Thursday night? We’re not sure that we can say that just yet, but what we can give you with some confidence is that there will at least be some talk about a wedding happening.

In the sneak peek below, Olivia Pope basically informs Cyrus that regardless of how he may feel about a wedding, he needs to make one happen … and soon. Why? There are political implications involved! In having a wedding at this very moment, it makes a big statement about the White House … especially if the wedding is actually held there. Regardless of whether or not this is what the man wants, it definitely looks as though this is what he is actually going to get.

We haven’t seen proof that the wedding is going to happen or anything, but for the time being we certainly love the concept. There have not been many occasions where this series really plays up the romantic angle, or at least in this sort of way. Most of the characters who are actually married are going through some terrible trouble, while most of the ones who aren’t have their own instability. Just look at Olivia and pretty much anyone.

By the end of this episode, maybe the wedding will be over? All we know is that if the show is moving in this direction, we do hope that they cut it off and end it sooner rather than later. The last thing that we want to see is it drag on for a ridiculously long time.
