‘Dancing with the Stars’ 20 spotlight: Will Charlotte McKinney, Keo Motsepe strike perfect pose?

Charlotte -We have to say, we were surprised when Charlotte McKinney was cast on “Dancing with the Stars” this season. While we are familiar with her, we just didn’t imagine that a ballroom competition was on her career trajectory. Yet, here she is, and she is a bit of a wild card this season in that we have no clue what her dance background is and if she can compete against people who are more naturally athletic.

Before getting into this spotlight, we should first of all rejoice here having official press images of all the dancers! These are going to be here the rest of the season, so get used to seeing them around for the series’ 10th anniversary.

Name – Charlotte McKinney

Age – 21, per People Magazine

Claim to fame – Model and actress, whose career is currently taking off. She’s done work with Guess, and she most notably was in the Super Bowl commercial for Carl’s Jr. that featured their All-Natural Burger. By the end of this commercial, we wonder if she ever wants to get near a burger again.

Partner – Keo Motsepe. He was new to the show last fall, and was paired up with Lolo Jones. We wish we were a little more confident about his chances this time around.

Strengths – Charlotte is young, which means that in theory she is more susceptible to training and putting in some of the hours. She has a decent follower count of almost 50,000 on Twitter, which may help to mobilize some voting blocks out there. Also, people do like Keo, and are probably going to want to root for him to succeed after he was booted so early this past season.

Weaknesses – Models don’t have the best track record on the show. Many of them struggled with getting the dances down, and also getting huge audiences behind them. Given that McKinney is still a relative newcomer known mostly for a raunchy ad, it may be even harder to find new viewers, especially when you consider that this show has such a heavy family viewing audience.

Prediction – If Charlotte can defy the odds with her personality, she has a shot … but she has to bring it early. Otherwise, she could be the first person out this season. It’s going to be hard for her with this show to find much of a voting block, unless she just happens to be really good out of the gate. Most models are not, and we worry.
