Is ‘Criminal Minds’ season 10, episode 16 new tonight? Plus, a look at the future

Criminal Minds -Criminal Minds” fans, we come bearing less-than-stellar news for the second straight week: There is no new episode airing on CBS. This means you have to wait for at least another seven days in order to see “Lockdown,” the prison-themed episode that has Thomas Gibson listed as a director.

The reason that there is no new episode tonight is ultimately rather simple: CBS is kicking off their latest seasons of some of their reality competition shows. “Survivor” will start with a 90-minute premiere at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, followed by “The Amazing Race” at 9:30. It’s another way to fill their Wednesday schedule, which is especially a good move for the network given that there are only 24 “Criminal Minds” episodes in a season.

Since we don’t want you to feel completely empty-handed tonight, why not bring you a few updates on the rest of the season? Here is what we know right now about some episode titles and airdates moving beyond “Lockdown.”

March 11 – 10×17, “Breath Play”

March 25 – 10×18, “Rock Creek Park”

April 8 – 10×19, “Beyond Borders.” Let it be known that this is the backdoor pilot for the proposed “Criminal Minds” spin-off show. Therefore, it is going to be a very different episode than most others.

April 15 – 10×20, “A Place at the Table”

Let it be known that it seems starting April 8, we will have a new episode every week for the remainder of the season. We feel like this series is going to come to a close on Wednesday, May 13.
