‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: Chris Wood finds new home with CW pilot

The latest -Clearly, Julie Plec has grown rather fond of Chris Wood as an actor. While he, like most other good villains, probably has an expiration date on “The Vampire Diaries,” it appears that the actor has a different destination on another potential CW show in the future.

Sources confirm that the man behind Kai has been cast in the drama pilot “Cordon” from the network, which revolves around people in Atlanta who become surprise heroes following an outbreak. Specifically and per Variety, Wood is going to play the part of Jake, a reformed bad boy who now takes on the role of cop. We have full confidence in Wood’s acting abilities at this point, given that he has done a tremendous job playing a complete psychopath. Kai is probably the best villain that we’ve seen on the series probably since Klaus surfaced on the scene.

With all of this being said, we do still worry somewhat about this pilot, given that you are dealing with an outbreak in Atlanta, and also a police officer as one of the main characters. Sound familiar? “The Walking Dead” would think so. It does make sense, though for the show to be set in Atlanta; Plec’s other shows film there, so it would make sense to park another series there if she is going to continue her TV empire on the network. While “The Tomorrow People” (which she was not the primary showrunner for) was canceled after one season, she has found success with “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals.”

We’ll have some more news related to the show as it starts to come out; stay tuned!
