ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7, episode 17 preview: Has Stana Katic’s Kate ‘met her match’?
Tonight, “Castle” took a step away from its recent super-serious stories revolving around 3XK and Kelly Nieman, and dived back into what really makes this show a step apart from the others: Its sense of fun and whimsy. It is bizarre in a way to use the term whimsy when talking about this show, but at the same time, it is very much applicable.
Unfortunately, you are going to be waiting until March 16 in order to see “Hong Kong Hustle,” which is for a specific reason: There’s only so many episodes in a season! Also, the show is being preempted on the 9th anymore for the “After the Final Rose” special of “The Bachelor.” Hopefully, the episode will be worth the wait, since it is a very different story than we’re used to.
Basically, this hour will revolve around Beckett working with a new partner, one we’re presuming is from Hong Kong. As it turns out, it appears as though she is good at just about everything: She is smart, experienced, brave, and seems to have Rick’s attention. As you would expect, Stana Katic’s character is not going to feel too good about this.
How does Beckett deal with jealousy? Much of the fun in this episode is going to revolve around seeing what she does as a result of all of this, and where this leaves us on the series moving forward. Let’s hope that it takes us down an interesting, twisted road with some laughs along the way.

I only hope that this episode and the ones to follow (I don’t like the use of the term “twisted” roads to follow) treat any jealousy as very dangerous to any marriage be it recent or of long duration. On the one hand we have started to look forward to a life of marital bliss with getting space of their own, having and raising children, moving on with successful marriage and careers and then we are subjected to a preview of misplaced jealousy, potential permanent damage to their marriage and careers, possible divorce, no children and a broken home. Jealousy is a serious thing sometimes even leading to murder and is not to be taken lightly or with irrelevant comedy. I do not like the idea of it as I did not like the jealous lies that occurred as the Caskett love and marriage developed over the years. Approach this apparition of jealously very cautiously it can get over used, boring and tedious very quickly. It can go from comedy to disaster very quickly (oops, I forgot that nothing happens in this series very quickly).

Excuse me but “jealous lies” above should have been jealousies. (So much for spell check.)

Wish they would have taken someone actually gorgeous.

Agree. However, it has always surprised me how many divorces have occurred and the second wife has been much less attractive than the first wife. Gives a lot of credibility to the truth that there is much more to true beauty than what you see with your eyes alone.

Well yeah, but Beckett obviously wasn’t talking about that beauty.
