‘Mad Men’ season 7 spoilers: Elisabeth Moss on Peggy Olson’s evolution
Admittedly, we are still having a hard time saying goodbye to “Mad Men.” The final episodes of the show premiere on April 7, and with that comes questions aplenty about what will befall some of the various characters.
For Peggy Olson, she is in particular an interesting place. When it comes to her career, there is little questioning to us that she is in a much better position than she was in a matter of years ago. She is now a very successful woman, and she has figured out more of what she wants out of her life. While she still faces turmoil (see her broken relationship Ted), we feel more confident that she’ll come out the other side okay than ever before. She may be one of the few characters we feel could definitely get a happy ending at the end of all of this.
So what does Elisabeth Moss think about her journey? Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, she shared the following message:
“She grows up … She becomes harder in a lot of ways. She gets her heart broken; she has bitter moments. … But I hope that she still retains that sense of honesty and positivity and truth. She’s earnest. She very much believes in whatever she’s saying. I think she still has that despite the fact that she’s had some hard knocks.”
Given how secretive showrunner Matthew Weiner is when it comes to details about the end of “Mad Men,” odds are that this may be the only tease on Peggy’s story you get for a good while. (The publication was also first to share the attached photo.)
