‘Outlander’ spoilers: Prepare for trouble ahead for Jamie and Claire

There were obviously some moments of passion between Jamie and Claire on the first eight months of Starz’s “Outlander.” So what could be coming up next? Think along the lines of some potential moments of despair.

The truth of the matter here is that nothing in so brutal a world can stay pleasant and cheerful for long, and these two characters (played by Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe) are really going to learn that even further when Black Jack Randall commits some of his most horrendous sins to date. Speaking on the subject of what to expect per TV Guide, executive producer Ronald D. Moore claims that there are some moments ahead that will alter the course of the entire relationship:

“When Jamie is taken and held by Jack Randall, that’s such a pivotal moment in their relationship and in the series … You can never take that away and that will always be part of [them] going forward. [Claire] feels an enormous burden of guilt. If she had not come and stayed — she wonders if any of these events would’ve transpired.”

With this in mind, Moore adds that these characters are going to spend a whole lot of time moving forward from this trying to figure out if they can get back to this place, and what they may realize here ultimately is that this is not something that is particularly easy to do. Obviously, there are even more threats and things to contend with on this show that go beyond what we’ve mentioned here.
