‘America’s Got Talent’: Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Mel B will re-join Howard Stern as judges
While we’re not entirely sure that there was ever any real doubt about the judging panel for “America’s Got Talent” going into the summer 2015 season, we do think it is nice nonetheless to have it confirmed: You are going to be seeing a whole lot more of the same judges as the past two seasons.
NBC confirmed today that Howie Mandel, Mel B, and Heidi Klum will all be joining “America’s Judge” Howard Stern for the new season, which will film its auditions soon with the judges across America. This panel has been for the most part well-received, with our only critique being that sometimes Klum seems to judge based on her idea of what her kids would like versus the actual talent level. (See her dismissal of many comedians over the past two seasons.) While our favorite panel ever may continue to be Sharon Osbourne, Mandel, and Piers Morgan, we feel like we are almost certainly in the minority when it comes to that. Just the way that Howie needled Piers relentlessly made for great television.
How does this show continue to stay so successful? We don’t really think of it as a show that needs to have a successful winner as validation, even though both Terry Fator has become a multi-millionaire and we feel like big things are to come for Mat Franco.
There is no premiere date yet for the new season, but early June seems to be the customary start date the majority of the time. We will of course have so much more in the way of news on the show coming up before then, so stay tuned!
