‘Top Chef: Boston’ finale spoilers: Mei Lin, Gregory Gourdet face off
It has been a crazy, dramatic, and intense season of “Top Chef,” and also an ironic one in many ways. Pretty early on, it felt obvious that the final two chefs this time were going to be Mei Lin and Gregory Gourdet. Both have been bold, consistent, and determined to win that title. They’ve also won a ton of challenges thanks in part to how they understand flavor and creativity in the kitchen. There were times in the recent weeks that we wondered if Gregory in particular was struggling, but he really got himself back together upon arriving in Mexico.
With all of this being said, we all know there can only be one winner! Who will it be? We really have no idea right now, and neither the promo nor the synopsis below are any help:
“In the final episode, two chefs are surprised by an early morning hot air balloon ride over the city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. For their ultimate showdown, the final two must create the most outstanding four-course menu of their lives. Each chef takes a different menu approach, but they both face cooking missteps and nerves along the way.”
If we did have to declare someone a favorite above all else, then admittedly we’d find ourselves leaning slightly towards Mei, if for no other reason than that it feels like she has shown off a whole lot more diversity in her food throughout the entire season. Either way, though, we feel like both would be really likable winners who bring a lot to the table, and would represent the franchise well.
Now that we’ve said that, who do you want to see win? Share now in the comments! Also, head over here to bite into some more TV scoop via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: Bravo.)
