‘Chicago Fire’ season 3, episode 13 video: Robert Knepper shines in crossover tease

Chicago Fire -Tuesday night marks the return of “Chicago Fire,” and with an episode that will kick off the beginnings of an epic crossover event. The Fire and Police Departments will be teaming up for one primary purpose, and that just so happens to be trying to figure out what happened to Leslie Shay, and to that building that ignited during last season’s finale / this season premiere. She did not make it out of there alive.

Do we have our latest suspect in the new sneak peek below? It’s very likely, since he is played by none other than “Prison Break” / “Heroes” alum Robert Knepper, who happens to be one of our favorite character actors out there. Few are as great at playing creepy, mysterious people. We’ve seen him on both “Arrow” and “The Flash” recently as William Tockman, and he appears to be equally great here.

It seems obvious after watching this that Knepper is the arsonist, which is specifically why we hope that he is not, but has some other ulterior motive or connection to the crime. We always prefer these stories when they surprise us, and we are therefore curious to see how he is precisely implemented.

If you love crossovers, you should be pleased that certain “Chicago PD” characters will eventually present themselves in this story. Meanwhile, the same goes for “Chicago Fire” characters on the police series the following day. This is not the last crossover event that the shows are planning this year, but it may be one of the most important. Justice for a popular character is at stake.

We’ll bring you much more about this episode as it starts to come out, so be on the lookout for that. Also, sign up today to retrieve some TV updates every week, courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: NBC.)
