ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: How Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion’s characters hunt down Kelly Nieman
How does Dr. Kelly Nieman re-enter the world of “Castle” this season? We already know that she will be back for the two-parter in February, but at this point it has remained unclear just how Beckett and Castle were going to figure out where this character (played by Annie Wersching) is hiding after her impromptu departure during “Disciple” back in season 6. She’s a suspect, so it’s not like she can just open up another medical practice somewhere and hope for the best.
Well, we now have some details on “Resurrection,” which is the first chapter in this epic story. According to SpoilerTV, here is how we are going to see Nieman back in the picture once again:
“Evidence in a young woman’s murder implicates Dr. Kelly Nieman — Castle and Beckett’s nemesis.”
While this is certainly fascinating information to know, we cannot really sit here and say that this one sentence does all that much in giving us insight into what Castle and Beckett are going to do to find her. Ultimately, we know that they will just because she’s a part of the episode, but the how is still a mystery.
Also, there is still the Jerry Tyson mystery out there in this two-parter as well. We know already that Michael Mosley will be returning, but it is not entirely clear if he will be in this episode, the second part “Reckoning,” or both of them. The title does seem to be a reference to 3XK, at least based on the fact that in the minds of Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion’s characters, the man died back in season 5.

I am loving the PI aspect and have always loved the 3XK story line. I hope the show can get as much use out of these story lines as possible.
My gut tells me Kate (and possibly other women of Castle) may be Tyson’s target this time. And that would of course be huge. If they do tie up 3xk in this two-parter, I’ll be sad to see it go, but have confidence, they’ll go out with a bang!

Since episodes 13, 14 and 15 have already been filmed I am doomed to whatever outcome the writers and show runner have determined to be the best possible representation of their skills for the February sweeps. However, after watching episodes 11 and 12 I have serious doubts. I read a news account a week or so ago that indicated that the present episodes 14 and 15 were originally scheduled for the 19th and 26th of January. This being the case and assuming the Castle PI episodes were to be scheduled for the February sweeps at least we can hope that the present episodes 14 and 15 live up to the hype. If I could have any input prior to episodes being filmed I would say that by the end of episode 15 both Castle PI and 3xk should be laid to rest because they are certainly dead with regard to interest. The series could have progressed quite well without either back story and perhaps regained some of the fan base.

And what makes you such an expert on why some fans aren’t watching live? Castle is still a beast in DVR ratings. The show usually sees a decrease in ratings in the months of December and January and show an uptick when airing after DWTS, so I’m not so quick to assume people are losing interest in the series. I’m still enjoying the show and know plenty of others who still are as well. Perhaps you shouldn’t speak for the rest of the fandom and just come out and admit you’re not enjoying the show or the PI arc. I hate when some try to speak for an entire fandom.

Shawn, If Buddy’s account regarding the schedule changes has validity then it would tend to negate your belief that Castle is considered a beast in the DVD ratings. Either they are not a beast in the DVD area or ABC doesn’t consider this beast when it comes to ratings. It says that ABC is concerned about overnight ratings because this what the advertisers are looking at when they pony up the money. Money is the Beast of all Beasts.
If there were changes in the schedule then this also means that ABC quickly determined that Castle PI was not working. There was a rating drop that was large enough to cause concern by ABC. That concern would have then affected the lack of trust they had to air Castle PI during sweeps.
I cannot speak for Buddy, but I would have have made the same decision as ABC. I don’t know anything for sure except personally I have deserted Castle PI. I find it uninteresting and almost silly. It seems off-putting.
I really don’t know what it is except I did not sign up for a PI show.

Shawn of course you cannot be sure that people are losing interest in the series. But I think the indications are there that they did not like Castle PI. The big drop in the ratings and fan comments tend to bore this to be the truth.
I am pending my hopes on the two parter. It sounds promising or probably more indicative of the show I came to like. Hoping anyway.
