‘American Idol XIV’ video: The Adam Lasher – Jimmy Fallon side-by-side

daOut of all of the moments that took place on “American Idol” this week that could have gone viral, we have to say that we really did not expect this one to featuring Adam Lasher and his physical resemblance to Jimmy Fallon. Yet, it has, at least in part due to host Ryan Seacret’s appearance on “The Tonight Show” this week.

Seacrest made an appearance on the show, we have to say first of all that the first 40 seconds of the video below is somewhat intolerable. Why does Fallon insist on all of the hype? The show’s not bigger than it has ever been, and while we don’t think the judges have been terrible this season, their recent habit of talking over many of the other contestants has driven us completely nuts.

The good stuff begins with Ryan and Jimmy bring up Lasher, who Jennifer commented on during his audition about the resemblance. From here, Jimmy proceeded to put on a fake beard, hair, and the headband, and then gave up what is a rather glorious side-by-side image.

For those curious, Lasher himself was certainly flattered to be featured in such a way, including it in a post on his Instagram page. Who wouldn’t be? As someone who was once mocked in a tiny snippet on the early days of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, we understand the joy that came from the fleeting mention of yourself on late-night TV.

There are still some more “American Idol” auditions to come next week, so we will have to see if there are any other hilarious resemblances between contestants and famous people.
