ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, ‘Resurrection,’ and ‘Reckoning’
While there are several known episodes of “Castle” season 7 coming up, it feels like there is far and away one particular two-parter that is going to get more attention than some of the others. After all, this is where we are going to see the return of 3XK to the picture, and he is one of the show’s most-notorious villains.
While we cannot share too many details about these particular episodes right now, we can at least give you this: The first official episode titles! According to a new report coming in right now via SpoilerTV, “Resurrection” and “Reckoning” are the names of the 14th and 15th installments of this season that make up this episode. We assume that the name of the first once could be due to the revelation that Jerry Tyson (Michael Mosley) is actually still alive. The only thing that we knew for sure last season was that Kelly Nieman (Annie Wesching) was a minion of his in some way.
Would this episode mark the end of the road for 3XK? It is a little too early to come to any conclusions when it comes to that right now, mostly because there is not that much information that is really out there. What we would say is that this should mark one of the more action-packed storylines, and one that could end up holding a clue or two as to whether or not 3XK is tied to what happened to Castle at the start of the season. Somehow, he has been able to not really think about that at all during the season.
This arc starts a week from Monday, and we will have some more scoop soon.

What I and I believe many other Castle fans would like to see is for Castle and Beckett to get back together in the 12th. They should do this in either episode 13 or in the early part of episode 14 because I think that Beckett and Castle will need the help, support and resources of the 12th in order to handle 3xk. I believe the titles are appropriate because the reappearance of 3xk is a resurrection of him from a long, long, long, long absence. Likewise Reckoning would appear to be appropriate when he is captured or killed and must pay the price for his past deeds. I just hope that it signals the end of him because his back story sucked in the worse possible way. It makes no reasonable sense for what is supposedly to be an important back story to lie dormant for about 2 years and suddenly to reappear without any premonition or preface and then be ended (hopefully) in just 2 episodes. This is especially true when given 3xk’s apparent hatred of Castle. Please, please, please let this be the end of 3 xk.

Me again. I am here to take exception to the statement that 3xk is one of the most notorious villains. The one, the only notorious villain was Bracken. This is what he and his minions did: killed Beckett’s mother and her supporters, killed all 3 policemen associated with that case, Beckett was left hanging off the side of a building to fall to her death,Tortured and tried to kill Beckett twice, tried to kill Beckett at Montgomery’s funeral, had Beckett in the crosshairs of one of his minions but Castle saved her and hurt his hand on the head of the villain and others I’m sure but I can’t remember. As you can see compared to Bracken 3xk is really undeserving of “notorious”. I would call him ” a small time killer of little danger”.

Hope this is good news. I have found myself skipping episodes lately. I just couldn’t get into that PI thing with Castle.
Maybe we will get a little of the show that I got to attached to. We’ll see. I’m there! If this doesn’t pan out and they continue with the PI theme then I’ll just give up.
I’ll get my fix from TNT, maybe.

Agree. I’m hoping that episode 13 will end the P. I. thing and also get Castle back in the good graces of the 12th in time to deal with his disappearance and the return of 3xk. Hard to understand that Castle was banned from the 12th without a personal discussion with the mayor given his supposed friendship with the mayor. It would appear that it could just be a reason for Gates to use to ban Castle and that the mayor had nothing to do with him being banned. However Gates did appear to be warming to Castle. How they are going to handle Castle being accepted back into the 12th (if indeed they do) is going to be much more interesting to me than a return of 3xk.

I realize that I am basically talking to myself but I feel like I should talk to someone with some degree of intellect from time to time (just kidding). I have a simple test of back stories that I call the test of importance. I analyze each back story by determining how often the backstory appears in episodes and the length of time between mention or activity of the backstory. The length of the back story does not matter as long as there is frequent activity concerning the story. To me the back stories of the murder of Beckett’s mother and the Caskett love story were ideal and scored highly in the importance test. On the other hand the 3xk, the disappearance of Castle and the Castle PI stint are miserable failures of the importance test. The story of Castle as a PI has been totally unrealistic as presented and takes away from other more important series aspects. (Castle could have resolved his disappearance issues in the same amount of time spent as a PI. Depiction of interaction of other cast members as been lacking and is due to the extra time required to solve a case by two people acting independly rather than together. It has been so long since 3xk had been mentioned that the series could have proceeded quite well without him. It appears that the 3xk hatred of Castle would have demanded that it be pursued more frequently and dramatically rather than be totally devoid of activity for about 2 years.)
