ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Stana Katic … and an outer space story?

We love episodes of “Castle” that tend to be far out there, but typically, even these episodes find a way to somehow remain in orbit.

This may not be the case for the episode that we are talking about today. Series star Stana Katic told TVLine recently that Beckett and Castle are going to be working on a case that somehow involves the planet Mars, along with both “spacesuits” and “space travel.” That may not be the biggest tease ever when it comes to word count, but it really doesn’t matter! How can you be anything other than giddy after hearing something like that? The idea of seeing these characters around anything so geeky is enough to send our brain skyrocketing out of the stratosphere.

This episode will mostly likely air after the epic two-part event featuring the return of Annie Wersching (plus another familiar face), and we may need a little bit of humor at that point.

One of the questions that will remain is whether or not Castle and Beckett will actually be a team again at that point. For the time being, it appears like the show is more than happy to continue this private eye narrative for a little while, and we don’t really mind. We were worried that it was going to separate Castle from the rest of the team, but the show has come up with what is a pretty innovative way to keep everyone around one another and also solving cases.
