‘American Idol XIV’ video: Harry Connick Jr. goes bananas
With the “American Idol XIV” premiere on January 8 steadily approaching, the folks over at Fox are seemingly doing everything in their power to get us prepared. With that in mind, we have further proof below that they really want to keep their promotional campaign going!
For those of you looking to see video footage of the actual contestants, you’ll probably be bummed out by this. Instead, what we have for you here is really all about the judges, and watching them all have a little fun over the accent that one contestant (who is unseen) uses when saying Harry Connick Jr.’s name. From there, he proceeds to try to get the guy to say “bananas.”
All of this is utterly ridiculous, but for the most part (provided that it is in moderation) we do like some of this silly behavior. Many of the contestants are understandably taking this audition very seriously, and it helps to cut the tension a little bit. Not only does this ensure that we are entertained more as viewers, but it may help some of the contestants relax a little going into their audition.
Also, Harry proved last year that he is brilliant in the audition room. Having an extra year of chemistry with Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez is only going to benefit all three. It’s been a while since there has actually been some consistency among the judges.
What do you want to see on this “American Idol” season, and do you like it when we see some silliness from the judges during auditions? Share below! There was also recently a lengthy introduction to the top 24 (or at least their voices), and you can see that here.
