‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Will Nikki Delventhal lift Chris Soules’ spirits?
Where are some of the big personalities on Chris Soules’ season of “The Bachelor“? We spotlight some earlier on in our series, but since that point, things have gotten a little bit stagnant.
One of the problems with the current contestant in the spotlight, Nikki Delventhal, is that while she has a good bit of information out there about her on the internet, very little of it revolves around what sort of person she is. Instead, it’s more about what she has done, whether it be magazine photos or a cheerleading gig.
Age – 26
Occupation – Former NFL cheerleader. We’ve saw online that Nikki is definitely a model, and she even lists it later in her bio. Why not lead with that? Saying you are a “former” anything makes you sound like you haven’t done anything great sense.
Location – New York City. Could be a problem here. It’s convenient for a model to live either here or in Los Angeles, but we don’t get the sense Chris would move either place. Maybe he would go to Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, or even Chicago if he wanted to leave the farm, but this far away? Seems unlikely.
Advantages – We feel like the reason that many models / performers do well on this show is that you have to be very charismatic in those fields to succeed. Therefore, Nikki can do a good job making herself stand out, and win Chris over almost right away with her personality. She also has a history in pageants, and it seems like she’ll take the good parts of that without some of the bad (talking about it all the time).
Weakesses – The biggest on here is simply fighting the conception that she is on here for fame, given her resume and that she has a very professional website. We’re also not sure if Nikki is going to be open enough or vulnerable enough to get Chris to keep her beyond a few weeks. She may make a big impression early, but then fizzle.
Prediction – For now, this is what we think is going to happen. While she may start strong out of the gate, we don’t see Nikki being a contestant who makes it to hometown dates. She just doesn’t have much in common with Chris, and we don’t get the sense that she will be a contender.
