‘Sherlock’ season 4 spoilers: The next filming date for Benedict Cumberbatch, cast
While you may be suffering right now with the loss of “Sherlock” on the air, we may at least be starting to get closer to finding out when your beloved characters will be returning!
If nothing else, we at least have further confirmation right now regarding when Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, and the rest of the cast are going to begin filming the first part of the fourth season in the upcoming “Christmas Special.” (It is not confirmed that it will be airing at Christmas time, but for the time being, we don’t know what else to call it.)
Speaking to India Today, writer / actor / executive producer Mark Gatiss explained in-depth what the waiting process is like, but also when everyone is going to be getting back together:
“It is increasingly hard to get everyone back together because of everyone’s schedules. We’re all very keen to do it. In a way, it’s a good idea though – you come back for three weeks and you’re on just long enough for people to not get pissed off! We always say that you get one James Bond film every two or three years – compared to that this is a treat! We start filming the Christmas special on Jan 6. When it will be aired is up to the BBC. And then three more. So this time there are four films.”
Given that at this point we are always worried about if an upcoming season is going to be the last, we are just glad to get some of these episodes as they come out. So long as we keep getting them, it is hard to be upset about anything else.
