‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ spotlight: Will Sig Hansen catch victory in his net?
Sig Hansen may be great in the Bering Sea, but how about in the chilly “Celebrity Apprentice” boardroom? He is an interesting choice for the show, given that the “Deadliest Catch” star is used to being in his element, risking his life in order to be a part of a delicate operation in a remote part of the world.
Basically, he is going from Alaska to one of the most-populated places in the world for this competition. This competition could be tough for Sig, but almost from a sociological perspective, we are interested to see how he fares in the boardroom alongside celebrities with giant egos.
Claim to fame – Captain of the Northwestern on the Discovery show “Deadliest Catch.” He has been a fixture of the show from the very beginning, and is one of the more-notable personalities.
Advantages – We cannot speak too much on specifics here given that we are not an avid “Deadliest Catch” viewer, but we would figure that after being in the Bering Sea, nothing on this show is going to scare him. He’ll be a hard worker, unafraid to do so of the more workhorse-oriented tasks. With that, we could see him being a popular person on the team.
Disadvantages – Outside of “Deadliest Catch” fans, there’s not much mainstream name recognition here. Also, how many celebrities is this guy going to know in the New York area? The major thing we’ll be worried about here is that with so many other big personalities on this team, Donald Trump could fire him for something small just to keep some crazier people around.
Charity – Coast Guard Foundation. Given how much the foundation is promoting Hansen’s appearance on the show, he may be a regular supporter. This foundation helps members of the Coast Guard and their families.
Prediction – It seems hard to think of a reason for Sig to be fired right away, and who knows? He could be such a hard worker that his deficiencies in this competition are somewhat sidestepped. We do think he has a limited shelf life in the competition, though, and will be gone before the final five.
How well do you think that Sig is going to fare in this not-so-deadly environment? Let us know right now with a comment, and head over here to get some more spotlights from this season! Sig doesn’t fish with a Net. He’s a Trapper and a Cultivator. Crabbers don’t only take from the Sea they also feed the small Crabs and other Creatures that enter their Traps. Don’t under estimate Sig either, there’s more to Crabbing then just catching. A good Fisherman does a lot of NETWORKING within the Fleet, with the Processors, and Dealers. A High Quality Product requires some keen Marketing to keep the Prices up too. In this Light Sig especially Highlighted by the Show “DEADLIEST CATCH” crosses many Demographics in Class and Age. High demand for a Quality Product, not to mention the Computer Game “DEADLIEST CATCH”. Here you have a Man that PLAYS as hard as he WORKS too. This makes for a lot of smoozing, so I’d say he’s quite a Celebrity in his own right. The only obstacle I see is what PARAMETERS the “DONALD” may establish. Yet you’re dealing with someone who ventures out into the vast Bering Sea in a 145 Foot Vessel, not a lot of sanctuary given the magnitude of the Sea and limits of the Vessel. Throw the unknown into the Equation and that’s why they call it the “DEADLIEST CATCH…You know the Fishery Nation will be rooting for ya Capt…
