‘Madam Secretary’ episode 12 spoilers: First photo of Tea Leoni from ‘Standoff’

While there may not be a new episode of “Madam Secretary” on tonight in “Standoff,” we do at least come bearing some other good news in the form of a first-look photo!

Granted, this image of Tea Leoni’s Elizabeth does not give away too much, but we know that the Secretary of State is, once again, going to have her hands full in this episode. Basically, she is going to be tasked with trying to work out a complicated extradition deal, while at the same time preparing for something a bit more intimate and personal in a wedding anniversary. This is a whole lot for any one person to balance on their plate, especially someone like her with so much already going on even before this came up.

Given that the first season is 22 episodes long, “Standoff” is the beginning for the second chunk of the story, and a good chance to see if Elizabeth is still able to not let the job completely consume her.

As for the show’s odds of sticking around in the long-term, we feel like much of the recent data about the show, including that it is a very strong performer in selected wealthy demographics, is encouraging. These are not always the most talked-about audiences in the press, but isn’t having a lot of money something that many advertisers would look at?
