NBC’s ‘The Voice’ finale: The future for Matt McAndrew, Chris Jamison
We are a few days removed now from “The Voice” season 7 ending, but it is in many ways still a new beginning for some of the contestants. Not only that, but this is a chance to find out whether or not either Matt McAndrew, Chris Jamison, or any other contestant are going to land some sort of career long-term.
Per a new interview from NJ.com, we already know that Matt has spent some time this week in New York, hoping to sign a record deal. Given how high “Take Me to Church,” “Wasted Love,” and “The Blower’s Daughter” all charted on iTunes, the guy is probably going to get some sort of opportunity. We legitimately believe that Chris will, as well, given his iTunes rankings, his swagger, and his pop-friendly style.
Now, we just have to wonder what “The Voice” as a show is going to do for some of these singers. They have been the target of criticism for not really giving their artists the best chances possible to succeed after their shows, and we really believe that to be true after this past season. Remember here that this season, RaeLynn was one of the few artists from past seasons to actually turn up. There was not even any love given to Josh Kaufman, the reigning champ from last season. We know that he was busy doing “Pippin” on Broadway, but still.
Do you think there is a chance this season that some people are going to have big careers away from “The Voice”? I think Matt and Chris, if given the right opportunities, can have great careers. They fit in the mold of what is popular right now, so I think they’ll be alright. Craig will be good because of Blake’s connections, and who knows, he might be a bigger country star than Cassadee, but time will tell. I was really hoping Matt would win like a lot of others did. There’s something very special about him and he is very talented, record labels would be fools to pass him up.

I hope Chris gets signed soon too. Chris also has that star quality many of The Voice contestants in the past lacked. That kid is special.
Pharrell also said a star was born on that show with him. So I would´t be surprised and I hope that a record deal is being prepared for Chris too.

I think that Matt (and Chris) have a very good chance to hit it big. Something seemed different about these finalists. A star quality alot of them have lacked? Matt was my pick from his audition and has a depth of talent rarely seen.

Yes. There’s something intangible about Matt and his voice, like you said the guy has star quality. Besides, he really has a hit on his hands with Wasted Love. That song could be huge. There are some rumors about Matt meeting with labels, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
And I hope Chris gets picked too, the kid has some real potential.
