‘The X Factor’ UK: See Ben Haenow’s music video of ‘Something I Need’

Love Ben Haenow? Then we have some great news for you: The singer and reigning “X Factor” champion has just released his official music video for his new song “Something I Need.”

With that being said, don’t expect this charity single to really do a whole lot when it comes to wow you with its video. Basically, it is completely structured like every other music video for a just-announced winner of the singing competition: All of the footage is from this season, which is something maybe the show could consider swapping in the future. This season of “The Voice” in America, the final four contestants all got music videos, and they were original and separate from the show.

Still, Ben has plenty to be happy about right now. He won the biggest singing show in Britain, and now has a great shot of making it big in the industry. There has been something made lately about a “curse” that comes with winning the show, but we don’t really buy it. Leona Lewis and Little Mix have both had great careers, and we feel like James Arthur had potential before all of the controversy happened. Really, One Direction is always going to be an outlier. It doesn’t matter if they were fourth place, first place, or tenth place. No one else is going to have that success.

We’ll probably hear more original music from Ben at some point next year, but we hope that he does get a chance to take his time.
