‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: The series finale title is…

While you may be waiting until February to see the series finale of “The Mentalist,” you don’t have to wait too long at all to learn what the title for this last episode of the show is: “White Orchids.”

This news was confirmed on Twitter by Jordan Harper, who also added that this episode was written by three of the biggest creative forces behind the show: Himself, original creator Bruno Heller, and executive producer Tom Szentgyorgi. (For those curious, Harper is moving over to work on “Gotham,” another Heller show, now that “The Mentalist” is ending.)

There is a certain appropriateness that “The Mentalist” would end with an episode with white in the title, whether it be as a symbol of purity, a fresh start, or even peace. We know that it’s fun to sit here and speculate that this could mean a wedding is on the horizon, but it is probably a step too far here to say that. We haven’t even heard anything about Jane and Lisbon getting engaged just yet; we imagine that for now, they just want to make sure that they figure out how to be in a relationship together after such a long friendship.

Until the time that this episode airs, new installments of “The Mentalist” are going to be airing every Sunday night on CBS, and that includes “Black Market” airing this coming weekend. Starting in January, the show will transition over to Wednesday nights, where it will air in the “Survivor” timeslot until it is over with a two-hour installment February 18.
