‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 11 preview: Return date, moving past death
Tonight, The CW wrapped up the first half of “The Vampire Diaries” season 6, and they did so with an episode that really had its fair share of holiday cheer … but also plenty of sadness and devastation.
So when are we going to be seeing the show return for some more episodes to try to pick up some of the pieces? Well, it looks like you’ll be waiting for over a month. Thursday, January 22 is the currently-scheduled next episode of the show, and that lines up well with the rest of the schedule that has been devised by the network already. While “The Vampire Diaries” is, alongside “Reign,” an episode ahead of most of the show’s other programs, we figure that they will find a way to get them on equal footing at some point in the future.
As for what we hope for the rest of the season, it is really a chance to get some more of the main cast members together. Most of the first half of this season featured people all over the place, and it ultimately alternated between at times being really great, but also at times pretty confusing.
If nothing else, at least feel pretty good that the stage has been set for a crazy second part of the season, and one where there could be more deaths to so many characters you have come to know and love. We’ll have more updates along the way. We thought that there was going to be a big one tonight, and instead, the show set the stage more for something to happen to Caroline’s mom.
