‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Will model / surfer Bo Stanley hang ten with Chris Soules?

Bo -Anytime that you come on a show like “The Bachelor” with a modeling history, especially when it is how you make your living, you have to be prepared for there to be much attention given to you. Hopefully, Bo Stanley is going to be prepared for that. The spotlight is going to be on her at some point, at least provided that she makes it far enough.

We don’t feel like Bo is your typical reality TV model-type; instead, we wonder about if it is her lifestyle and her hobbies that make her a somewhat-questionably choice for Chris Soules’ season of the show. (Afraid of spoilers? Don’t worry. Our spotlights are spoiler-free!)

Age – 25

Hometown -Carpinteria, California. For those curious, this is a small beach town in between Ventura and Santa Barbara. Appropriately, it is an area known for being a good surfing community.

Occupation – Plus-sized model. She has also done some competitive surfing over the years. In between social media and various publications, she probably has a bigger internet footprint than most other contestants this year. She seems to be at least pretty successful as a model, and has done some brand campaigns. She’s not someone on TV hoping to be a model someday.

Bio highlights – She comes across as very active, loves the ocean, and is pretty laid-back. With all of this being said, there’s not much information about her in the context of the show.

Positives – She is clearly pretty adventurous, and will probably be one of the most social contestants there. This could be good for making a quick first impression with Chris. Also, she shouldn’t be intimidated by the production side of things.

Negatives – With all of this being said, we have no clue how she and Chris mesh at all. He seems to be very tied to the family farm, and so much of her identity and even her work seems to be tied to the beach. There aren’t any beaches in Iowa. Either producers just really liked her in auditions, one of them is open to moving, or someone thinks that she’ll bring drama. We’re hoping one of these is an explanation for why she was cast, since we cannot figure it out.

Also, she’s going to have to overcome the stigma of being on the show with this sort of profession. Regardless of fairness, you will be questioned if this series is a platform for you to further your career.

Prediction – Bo’s not going to last long. Maybe she gets a few weeks in, but it seems that she and Chris are going to want different things. We would not be shocked to see her gone the first night.
