‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: Simon Baker, Robin Tunney talk new stories

With the seventh season of “The Mentalist” premiering on Sunday night, many questions are still out there for what the show is going to be like now.

Well, we at least have a few answers now, and it is all courtesy of the video below via CBS. In this, the likes of Simon Baker, Robin Tunney, and the rest of the cast all go through some of the important story threads for the seventh and final season, and that includes how Jane and Lisbon are going to be make this work. Tunney specifically jokes that she is very “lucky” to be getting paid to kiss and spend time with Simon Baker, given that there are many women all around the world who would love to be in this situation.

The biggest takeaway from this video, at least for us, is how this new season is going to establish a new sort of journey for Jane and Lisbon to go on romantically. They have to figure out how to make things work, but things are not going to be a cakewalk when it comes to this adjustment. As Rockmond Dunbar (Abbott) specifically mentions here, this is going to be a darker season at times than what we’ve seen before … and that may be really saying something when you remember how dark the end of the Red John story was.

Hopefully, the show will at least do enough to remind us of how fun this show can be, but also how dramatic it is at times, as well.
