‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: The title of penultimate episode

Let’s talk about titles, shall we? This is something that is almost always fun, but in the case of “The Mentalist” moving close to the series finale, it is also rather mysterious.

What we can at least tell you for now is this: The name for the second-to-last episode of the entire series’ run. In a post on Twitter (see below), writer / producer Jordan Harper made it clear that the name for the second-to-last episode (which is really the first of a two-hour finale) is entitled “Brown Shag Carpet.” We know that the show loves its color theme, so there is not too much to be surprised about there. However, what about the shag carpet? We cannot really make anything of that either. Due to the theme of this show, it’s hard often to know what these names mean most of the time before watching the episodes. Then, they start to make a little bit more sense.

As noted in here, you may not know the title for the series finale for a good while … but should you really be that surprised by that? We wouldn’t be. The show has to keep at least some things close to the vest for a little while.

We are going to have some further news very soon when it comes to “The Mentalist,” but remember here above all else that the new season of the show premieres on CBS come Sunday, November 30. We’ll have some further news when it comes to that soon.
