ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Official take on Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion in ‘Bad Santa’

The more that we see about the upcoming holiday episode of “Castle,” and the more that we are starting to understand why it at one point carried with it the title of “Have Yourself a Mobster Little Christmas.” This is an episode that overall features potentially some holiday cheer as Castle and Beckett enjoy their first Christmas as a married couple, but also some members of the mob who have some ties to Rick’s past.

You may have seen some details about what is coming up for Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic’s characters in this episode before now, but the synopsis below via ABC makes it clear all over again:

“When an ER physician is gunned down in the street, Castle and Beckett soon discover that the victim was a mob doctor to a Mafia family run by an old friend of Castle’s. Also, against the backdrop of Christmas, Esposito and Lanie reach a defining moment in their relationship.”

The Esposito story is in some ways something that feels like a carry-over from the episode airing tonight entitled “Kill Switch.” Thanks to what happens here, we could really be seeing some big decisions being made in regards to what Jon Huertas’ character wants to do with his personal life moving forward.

As for the guest cast for the episode, it includes Carole Gutierrez as Dr. Deb Lander, Larry Poindexter as Det. McBride, Vincent Spano as Christopher Carlucci, Mo Gallini as Rocco Carducci, Paul Ben-Victor as Dino Scarpella, Alex Frnka as Jane Scarpella.
