‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: Latest returning guest to join Simon Baker, cast

Throughout the past couple of weeks, we have made it relatively clear how we’ve wanted to see “The Mentalist” do its part to bring back as many memorable faces to the show as possible for the final season. After all, it would be a complete bummer if we did not get some further tributes to the show’s past before the final curtain dropped.

Well, what we have for you today comes via the realm of surprises, as we’ve learned that none other than Joshua Bitton is going to return to the show in his role as Agent Rick Tork! This one is admittedly a little bit of a surprise, given that this is hardly a super-memorable character on the show. He appeared in just one episode a few years back, and it was not like he was Red John or something.

At the moment, the only way that we really know how to classify this particular casting is as an Easter egg to some of the diehard fans, who have been a huge part of the show staying alive. If there are several of these coming up, we’d be thoroughly pleased with that.

The series is going to continuing filming over the weeks ahead, but really is not that far away from their series finale. This is going to actually air on CBS in February, but the show itself premieres come Sunday, November 30.
