‘Switched at Birth’ season 3 spoilers: Lea Thompson on Christmas Special

Even though the majority of “Switched at Birth” season 3 is already over, there is still one episode that is out there on an island, waiting still to come on the air: “Yuletide Fortune Tellers,” which is airing on December 8. It’s that ironic episode in season 3 that is actually much closer to season 4.

This is also probably not going to be an episode that really ties too much into the rest of the recent season, either, at least based on what we’ve seen in synopses and videos about the show already. It is instead going to have a little bit of an “It’s a Wonderful Life” theme to it, as Daphne and Bay are going to have a chance to basically live in one another’s shoes. It also reminds us a little bit of “Freaky Friday.”

While we don’t necessarily have the most substantial tease in the world to give you today, recent “Dancing with the Stars” contestant and series star Lea Thompson did give a little tease recently to Entertainment Weekly that makes this episode even more intriguing to us than it was going into it:

“Daphne and Bay want each other’s lives and their lives get switched … There’s magic involved.”

If we could advise you at present on what the idea mindset for this story would be, it would be to not take anything that transpires within here altogether seriously. Instead, you would be better off to just think about this episode as a slice of fun, and an opportunity to play catch-up for what is happening with some of your favorite characters … just in a slightly different setting.
