‘Glee’ season 6 premiere date: Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, cast return January 9; series finale in March
Who knew that Friday nights were going to be so crowded when it comes to popular cult shows?
Here’s just a sampling of what we are talking about. Coming up next year, Fridays will at some point play host to “Shark Tank,” “Glee,” “Hart of Dixie,” “King of the Nerds,” “The Amazing Race,” “Constantine,” and many more shows. A whole lot of them actually come on at the same time.
What we have for you here today is confirmation on the “Glee” season 6 premiere date: It will be back on Friday, January 9 with a two-hour premiere, and from there on out, new episodes are going to air Friday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. The show will ran in total for 11 weeks, and come to a close with another two-hour finale on Friday, March 20.
The good news for the show is that expectations may be low for Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, and company, given that Fox has been suffering through “Utopia” over the past several weeks. However, we do worry that this will be a completely ratings dud on the night. The majority of the “Glee” viewership is young, and they are most-likely the ones who will be out doing other things on Friday nights.
The one piece of silver lining that we have for you here? It’s simply the fact that it is January, and most of the northern states may be more interested in staying indoors on Fridays than going out and handling the cold.
