NBC’s ‘The Voice’ spoilers: What Reagan James, Anita Antoinette, Sugar Joans, Luke Wade, top 12 will sing

Tonight, we have what we would refer to as the first proper live performance show on “The Voice.” This is the first time that we’ve had all the artists perform on one night, and also the first time that the Save is going to come into play by America. You don’t want to get in that heart-attack-inducing situation, though, so if we were the singers, our biggest piece of advice would be to find a way to avoid this if at all possible.

Matt McAndrew, “Take Me to Church” (Team Adam) – The best song choice of the night, and the one to probably get the spot at the end of the show. The Hozier song is still unknown enough that this could have a Josh Kaufman – “Stay With Me” effect.

Damien, “He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother” (Team Adam) – We don’t listen to the Follies much, but we imagine that this will contain a million notes fluttering all over the place.

Chris Jamison, “Jealous” (Team Adam) – It’s a Nick Jonas choice! We didn’t see this coming, but file this one under “so crazy that it just might work.” Adam can be sometimes pretty crafty, and at least all of his team’s choices are creative.

Anita Antoinette, “Redemption Song” (Team Gwen) – Not the biggest surprise to hear Anita doing Bob Marley, but this is probably one of his most beautiful songs. Our hopes are high.

Ryan Sill, “Ordinary World” (Team Gwen) – Not a fan of this. We would have given Ryan something that qualifies as young and hip, and not a cover of an old song by Duran Duran.

Taylor John Williams, “If” (Team Gwen) – Such a weird choice, and we still don’t know what to make of Taylor. The show has worked hard to make us like him, but we still haven’t seen anything that special.

DaNica Shirey, “Creep” (Team Pharrell) – This is the sort of song that can be epic, but can also just be extremely grating. Make sure that DaNica doesn’t scream the song near the end, and we should be good.

Luke Wade, “Thinking Out Loud” (Team Pharrell) – It’s a good song, but the problem with Ed Sheeran is that none of his songs really test your vocals. It’ll be challenging for Luke to stand out.

Sugar Joans, “Take Me to the River” (Team Pharrell) – This is the sort of song that Pharrell should know how to make into something amazing. Hopefully, this will show that Sugar is a potential darkhorse to go far.

Craig Wayne Boyd, “You Look So Good in Love” (Team Blake) – With Craig being the only real country act left, we expect him to gravitate more towards this than southern rock to get that voting block behind him. A good choice.

Reagan James, “It Ain’t Over til It’s Over” (Team Blake) – The issue with Reagan is going to be channeling all of her energy. She has more potential than almost anyone, but her voice could go out of control quickly.

Jessie Pitts, “Don’t You Worry Child” (Team Blake) – This will be all about the arrangement. We’d start slow, and then end on an EDM high with the pass thumping and Jessie working the crowd.
