‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 5 preview: McGee takes over
If anyone wants to see McGee in a position of power (even if it is a temporary one) on “NCIS” season 12, the new episode airing Tuesday, entitled “The Sam Dominick,” should provide that … and then some other entertainment.
In the newest sneak peek video below, you can see Tony hand down the reigns to McGee while he and Gibbs are away than the office. They are going to be handling another urgent matter on the sea, as pirates are starting to disrupt what was meant to be a peaceful training session. This case unites the NCIS and the CGIS, and Diane Neal will return as Agent Borin in the process.
Save for the information that we mentioned here, including a guest appearance from “Supernatural” alum Jim Beaver, there is not a whole lot of information that is out there about this particular episode. We really anticipate that this is going to be just a standalone episode with not a lot of progression into any larger stories; after all, it is not an episode in the November sweeps, and really the goal here is mostly to tell a good story that brings some of the Navy actually back into the NCIS.
As for the McGee story, we really wish that there was just more of Margo Harshman around as Delilah. She is still a part of his life, but with the character overseas and the actress not on the show, we feel like there is something still missing here as a whole.

I like McGee. I hope they actually give him some quality time. As far as TPTB not giving much information about this episode that might be a good strategy. You have to actually watch the show to find out what’s in the show. When they put a lot of hype into an episode, it just increases the disappointment if it’s not that good. They need better writing and less hype, in my humble opinion

Well McGee pretty much seems to be replacing Tony anyway as Gibbs second in command. Tony will likely serve no real purpose other than to ineffectually worry and fret and of course provide comic relief as he argues with Borin over who should be in charge while they’re trying to save Gibbs. None of this will matter though since Super Gibbs will no doubt get himself out of this weeks personal danger and save everyone else in the process.

I too, would like to see Delilah come back. She has good chemistry with the guys. The earlier ep where she is bawling Tony out when he saw pics of her on McGee’s cell meant for McGee was hilarious. She has a sister-like banter going with him. I would also like to see more of Diane Neal, not just one ep per season.
Well, the season is still getting underway so let’s see what unfolds.

Any scene with Bishop is a waste of screen time. But we’re not allowed to see Delilah, who is hands down the best female character the show has introduced in years.
