‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 2 preview: The ‘Yellow Ledbetter’ mystery

Do we finally know where Damon and Bonnie really are? We’re starting to feel that way, at least based on the latest “Vampire Diaries” preview video below.

In this one, executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries each drop what we personally feel are some of the biggest hints to date on the whereabouts of Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham’s characters, specifically mentioning the episode titles. It should not be altogether difficult for anyone to connect the dots the rest of the way there. (Speculation ahead!)

Many of these titles right now are also names of popular songs from the 1990s, which to us translates to mean that the show is going most likely for a time-travel story here that ships some characters to another part of Damon’s life. This isn’t the first time that a show later in its run has done this (see “Lost”), but hopefully in this case, it will be a smaller part of the story if this is really what we are looking at here.

Also in this video, Plec and Dries discuss the grand return of Enzo to the show, and how there is a somewhat-awkward situation that is born out of the character getting together with Stefan and Caroline for a scene. Even though the original love triangle of the series seems to have drifted far apart at this point, there is still hope for another one. Remember here that this is The CW, and this is the sort of thing that they love and cherish above all else.
