‘Criminal Minds’ season 10, episode 2 preview: A ‘Dexter’ alum and more in ‘Burn’
Tonight, “Criminal Minds” debuted its tenth season with an episode entitled “X,” which did a very good job of introducing Jennifer Love Hewitt’s character of Kate Callahan. It likely helped that the show had a full summer to really brainstorm ideas for the character, and she felt very fleshed-out from the moment we first saw her.
Now, the show can sort of stabilize, and get back to doing more of what it does the majority of the time: Presenting creepy characters who the BAU has to take out. This will be the focus of “Burn,” and that includes a guest-star in C.S. Lee (“Dexter”) who you may be familiar with already.
For a few more details on what to expect, check out the attached synopsis below:
“A series of abductions and murders in Seattle send the BAU seeking an UnSub who was abused in the past and is out for revenge. Meanwhile, Garcia heads to Texas to confront the man she shot while defending Reid and herself, as he waits on Death Row.”
This is a hard show to really gauge when it comes to expectations, mostly because all we really want from this show the most of the time is to be surprised. Sometimes the villains are a little too creepy and over-the-top for their own good, and sometimes we don’t see enough of the characters we want more backstory for.
In the end, this is why we’re settling in right now on just wanting our minds blown occasionally. Is that too much to ask for a show like this?
