‘Outlander’ episode 9 spoilers: Series boss on upcoming Jamie scenes

Tonight, we saw the end of “Outlander” season 1 for the time being, and much like we predicted, the show ended on what was a pretty darn great cliffhanger.

As you would expect, though, the story is not over with yet, and it is only going to get even more intense for a few characters … especially Jamie. While he has seen his fair share of victories (hey, he’s married now), there have also been many punishments, and plenty more to come. Book readers know about some specific moments, and per executive producer Ron D. Moore’s comments to Entertainment Weekly, it sounds like those are on the way:

“We did it. It’s pretty intense stuff. We just got finished shooting those sequences. Some very brave actors and some emotionally and psychologically difficult material to deal with on set. It’s such an important part of what the book is and what the story is about that there’s really no way to shy away from it. It hasn’t been edited together yet—we literally just finished shooting it.”

The show will also continue to mix it up a little bit when it comes tot he source material; specifically, we’re speaking here when it comes to using some scenes from later on in the books, especially to give Frank a largely presence. We feel like this is a symptom of being able to keep a character off the page for a long time, but you want little reminders in a show. It is similar to how “Game of Thrones” handled Theon Greyjoy.
