‘Castle’ season 7 video: ABC tries to lighten things up with Nathan Fillion – Stana Katic montage

Everyone knows that “Castle” left off on a tense note going into season 7. You had Castle (Nathan Fillion) being captured, and all Beckett (Stana Katic) could do as a result was find out after the fact that her fiance was not showing up for her wedding.

ABC recently released a sneak peek that really plays out some of the sorrow and terror that Kate is going to feel during the season 7 premiere “Driven,” and with that, maybe they felt like playing up the drama in other previews was more or less the equivalent of just exploiting the cliffhanger.

The new promo below is much more lighthearted, and while it is lacking any new footage, it does remind you of some of the happier times that the couple experienced during the sixth season of the show. Heck, this feels more like a promotion for the season 6 DVD than it does for anything that is actually coming up for the show starting on September 29. We understand that ABC wants to sell these, but still, isn’t that so much harder now in the age of streaming?

While “Castle” is great at playing some of these emotional situations like we are going to see in “Driven,” we’re excited for the funny times to come again for the show. We appreciate the show best for its humor, and its ability to maybe pick things up after a rough day and bring a smile to your face. Fillion’s charm and his chemistry with Katic are two of the reasons that works so well.
