‘Hell on Wheels’ season 4, episode 8 preview: Anson Mount, trouble, and ‘Under Color of Law’
Are you ready to see Cullen Bohannon take the next step on “Hell on Wheels“? That is going to be one of the themes of the new episode airing on AMC next week.
Going into it, let’s just look at where Anson Mount’s character is at. He managed to escaped a town in Fort Smith where he was constantly in danger, and since moved to a town in Cheyenne where he and his entire family have been in danger. John Campbell is currently in the midst of a reign of terror, and there was also everyone that we saw tonight with Elam. The character is now gone, and the end to his story was devastating.
The episode next week is entitled “Under Color of Law,” and danger is going to be a central theme of the story. Cullen is going to have to decide where he wants his family and how he wants them to live, while the streets of Cheyenne are about to become even worse for the old-school outlaw. If you want some further insight right now into what to expect, take a look at the attached synopsis:
“Cullen makes a decision to ensure his family’s safety. Meanwhile, Campbell hires a new federal marshal to clean up the streets.”
It’s hard to really figure out what else to say while writing this article right now, largely because this was one of the most devastating episodes to date tonight. The show has to move forward, and hopefully we’ll process better the show without hope of an Elam return soon.
We can at least tell you one thing right now: The Swede will be back for the story next week.

It is easy to see that new federal marshall will be Syd Snow. He is kind of the anthesis to Cullen and will, in some capacity, attempt to fill the void left by Elam. He won’t ever fill it but it seems more and more likely that Cullen and Syd form an uneasy alliance further on down the road.

I hope this is like Bobby stepping out of the shower on Dallas and we realize the entire last season was a dream…

I’d like to think that Elam is not dead, it was all just show. Bring him back. Get rid of someone else.

Elam character when he died broke my heart. I was so hoping him and Eva could fine their why back to each other. Please let this all be a dream for Eva or Cullen . He was just one of my favorite characters on the show.
