‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ spoilers: Another teaser, another foot forward

“American Horror Story: Freak Show” is apparently now in full teaser season. It was only yesterday that we saw one teaser all about someone trapped in a cage, and today, we have apparently the case of the three-legged contortionist.

Is this promo particularly scary? Of course not. It’s mostly just cool, and we stylistically really like it, especially from a costuming / makeup perspective. It gives you a further sense of the era, and at least some of the artistic vision that the show has for some of the characters at its Jupiter, Florida freak show. With that in mind, don’t necessarily expect this three-legged woman to be a part of the cast. The same goes for that man with a forked tongue you saw in an earlier teaser. The whole goal of these is to just promote the show, and not necessarily to give anything away about the plot.

So are any of these really that great of a use of money? We could understand if some network executives chose to actually wonder that for a number of reasons. Doing these every day must take a lot of work, and they never come across as cheap. Luckily, the show is right up there with “Sons of Anarchy” as the most-popular series on FX, and it also has a huge global audience who catch it through other means. One of the great things about this show is that there’s never a fear about having to catch up. You can start from the premiere, and you won’t miss a thing if you have not watched any prior season.
