‘The Good Wife’ season 6 spoilers: ‘Frasier’ alum gets key recurring role

Good Wife -The Good Wife” loves to bring in major guest stars for recurring roles, and if you love “Frasier” in particular, then we imagine that the following will definitely be music to your ears.

CBS announced today that David Hyde Pierce will be making his first scripted TV appearance since the end of the beloved sitcom a decade ago on their hit drama, and will be playing a legal commentator on a major news network who, upon seeing the heavy crime rate in Chicago, decides to take matters into his own hands and run for office.

The show’s executive producers Robert and Michelle King were a part of the statement announcing this big casting, and had the following to say about it:

“We couldn’t be more thrilled and flattered that David’s making THE GOOD WIFE his first TV role since ‘Frasier.’ We’re tremendous fans of his dramatic skills as well as his comedy.”

Pierce is not the first actor with major comedy chops to get a role on the show, given that we have seen Sarah Silverman and Nathan Lane on in the past. Pierce is joining a guest cast for this season that includes the return of Carrie Preston, and will have many other notable faces show up throughout. The new season will officially premiere come Sunday, September 28, and will have high standards to match. Julianna Margulies is just coming off of a big Emmy win for the show, which had a resurgence in the year that brought a nomination, as well for Josh Charles.
