‘Dancing with the Stars’ 19 spoilers: Which ‘Duck Dynasty’ star is reportedly on?

We knew that it was only a matter of time before “Duck Dynasty” and “Dancing with the Stars” crossed paths … but we still have to say that we’re surprised by who among the Robertson clan is reportedly joining the show.

According to Us Weekly, Sadie Robertson, the 17-year old daughter of the A&E show’s star Willie Robertson, is set to join a cast that already includes Antonio Sabato Jr., Lolo Jones, Andi Dorfman, and others. Sadie is a longtime fan of the show, and from that vantage point, this has to be a dream come true for her. She also would help to check off a couple of boxes that the show looks for every season: Someone from a popular reality show, and someone who can bring in a conservative viewership.

From the standpoint of comic relief, it would have probably been funnier to see either Willie or one of his brothers on the show, but we figure that Sadie probably has a much better chance of actually winning. While she may have studying to do, she’s not going to be burdened with trying to run a company while also doing the show. She’ll also probably handle the training process pretty well.

If this was just a year ago, we imagine that this casting would be one that generated even more headlines than it is now. “Duck Dynasty” was at one point more popular with young viewers than almost any show on TV not named “The Big Bang Theory,” “Scandal,” or “The Walking Dead.” The audience has diminished significantly in the past year, which could be contributed to a number of different things, whether it be viewer fatigue or the Phil Robertson controversy earlier this year.
