NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 7 trailer: Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, more do battle

The Voice -The Voice” is certainly going all out to promote their new coaching lineup, and that apparently also includes sending the entire crew to the old west.

The fun new trailer for the show features Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and new coaches Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams all in their own crazy version of a Wild West shootout. The difference in this case is that rather than using any sort of actual firearms, the parties involved are all equipped with buzzers. When they hear a great singer, they all decide that they want to spring into action … and inside the saloon, you can see the inside of the studio.

We like what NBC is doing here, mostly thanks to the fact that they are continuing to emphasize what is the real reason that so many people continue to watch “The Voice” year after year: Entertainment. This is a fun show! It tends to constantly make you laugh, and focuses more on having you smile than necessarily finding a big star. Maybe that is the show’s ultimate Achilles’ heel, since everyone wants to know who the next big name in music is going to be at the end of the day.

Still, at this point we’ll take a good show over almost anything else, since we are in an era at this point where it is harder and harder for anyone in the reality TV world to actually make a legitimate career out of music. There’s just so much more competition, and even “American Idol” has struggled as of late.
